11:12:04 Booker T

On adding "WWE Champion" to his 5-Time catchphrase…

"That'll never change-the 5 Time WCW champion. But I'll make sure to throw the one-time up with it. It will be a perfect match. This is gonna be poetic justice on Sunday night, I'm finally getting the title shot. Finally getting the title shot after being on the Smackdown roster for over a year, so I'm going to make the best of it.

I'm going to do everything I can to walk out with the title. I'm not gonna leave the match, I'm not gonna leave the arena with out the title around my waist that night-no matter what I have to do.

On his former wish to win the title and face Chris Benoit at WrestleMania 21 in a unification bout…

"You know, if that could happen, and right now I have chance to make it happen. This is something I've been dreaming about ever since our best of seven series, to get back in the ring with Chris Benoit-my greatest challenger of all-time, I think one of the greatest competitors of all-time. To get in the ring and do it one more time. And give him the chance to come out on top as I did back in the best of seven, but I don't think that will happen. But, I think it would be great for the fans to see it. A lot of fans out there want to see it and most definitely, I want to do it.

On this recent face turn and title shot being the beginning of the process towards his retirement…

"I don't think so. I signed a one-year contract with WWE, then I made the change from RAW to Smackdown. When I was on the RAW crew, I can honestly tell you I wasn't as happy. I didn't feel like I wanted to wrestle anymore. I actually called my agent a couple of times and told him, 'I don't know how much longer I can do this.'

But getting switched over to Smackdown, I really didn't think I was gonna like that, thought I was gonna hate it. But, it seems to have given me a new look on life almost. Seems like I have a new energy to go out and wrestle, and go out and do it on a high level. I think it's because of working with a lot of the younger talent on the Smackdown crew. Getting the chance to get out there and see that these kids are really hungry and they want to knock me off. Before, I really didn't have a challenge. Now these kids, they want to knock me off, so I've got something more to prove so I'm having a lot of fun on Smackdown. No, I don't see it as a prelude for me leaving just yet. I got a lot of fans telling me 'we aren't ready to see you leave yet' and that feels good. Also, I always want to be one of those guys not to overstay my welcome in the business.

But right now I'm still wrestling at a high level, I think I'm just wrestling at as high a level as I always did. I know when to turn it on and Sunday night, Survivor Series, JBL-Booker T, one-on-one, you can bet I'm gonna turn it on. You're gonna see some fire. You're gonna see some special, something crazy from Booker T. On ppv, it always brings the best out of me, so, I'm looking forward to it.

On recent WWE roster moves affecting the locker room…

"You know, it shouldn't change the mood at all. Other than motiviating these guys to go out there and try to be more creative. To go out there and try to put more behinds in the seats. Get their craft where it needs to be because back in the day, everyone knew their positions on the card. Everybody knew what they were expected to go out in the ring and do each and every night.

Now we got a lot of kids coming up who really don't know the business. There was a lot of guys that were in that group, you know some of the guys deserved to get fired. Some of them may not have deserved to get fired-they may have gotten fired for different reasons, I don't know.

"But as far as the locker room goes, it should spark these guys and try to get them on track. That's one comfort zone I think I can say I've always had since I've been in the business, that when the firings and the cuts were going to be coming, I never though I was going to be one of them. That was a security within myself, though, knowing that when I came to work I was there for a reason. And that was to put behinds in the seats and that's what these guys need to start thinking about."
