FRANKIE KAZARIAN
On
needing x-rays after getting banged up at Victory Road/Impact...
"Yeah,
a little bit.
It was Sunday, I did something to my right hand...(doctors)
didn't really see anything too bad, but one of my fingers
is pointing in a direction it shouldn't be so, hopefully
I can avoid any sort of medical procedure. But yeah, will
call tomorrow and see what's up.
On
returning at Victory Road to challenge Senshi for the X-Title...
"Yeah,
you know it was great. To come back to TNA was awesome.
It was something that I've been looking to do for a while.
Great to be in there with Senshi and jump right back into
the X-Division, which is where I basically made my name
on tv and ppv--it was an awesome feeling.
Why
so long before the return to TNA...
"First
it was the no-compete (WWE). Then it was just a matter of
TNA's obviously doing really good and on the upswing and
they had a lot of things already put into play and a lot
of guys they were doing a lot of things with and it was
just a matter of needing a certain team or person to fill
a spot. I had been in talks with them for a while, but it
came to pass that this past Sunday was the time to bring
me back.
On
having lots of new opponents in the X-Division and tag teams
to work against...
"Exactly.
There's a lot of new faces and very talent guys there. Jay
Lethal, Alex Shelley, guys that are immensely talented and
I'm just excited and really pysched to focus on the tag
division and get to run with the chemistry that I think
Matt and I have as a team. There's a lot of good teams out
there now and I'd love to just conquer the tag team division
as we did the X-Divison back in the day.
My
focus, and I think Matt's focus, is on tag team wrestling.
We love the X-Division, that's where we cut our teeth, but
it's time to move on and concentrate on the tag division--that's
basically where our focus is.
On
how much truth to the rumors of him and the Naturals refusing
to cut their hair...
"It's
just like anything on the internet--you take a little bit
of truth and stretch it into some old wives tale immediately.
It was something that was discussed and I said it was something
I didn't feel comfortable doing but at the end of the day
it wouldn't have, I I would have done it. It wasn't about
the hair, it was about I was unhappy. And that's certainly
no fault of WWE's, it was fault of my own.
I
think it's a great company, not just for me. Not at this
stage of my career. And I just wasn't happy and I knew that
was my way out and I took it. It's funny, how parallel things
are now with all the talk about the Naturals. I think it
was also blown out of proportion.
On
why WWE did not work out...
"Just for me personally, the style of TNA fits my character
and wrestling ability a lot better at this point. Initially,
when I first came to WWE, I was told they were revamping
the Cruiserweight Division. I was like 'okay, cool' I can
do that. But it really didn't come to pass that they did
that--that I know of. I just think TNA's a fresher style,
more emphasis on in-ring performance rather than just storylines
getting over and the atmosphere.
Backstage,
I think, I feel a lot more at home and relaxed in TNA and
I never felt like I was really part of the company in WWE--not
that I was there long enough time to get that feeling, but
I always felt at home and comfortable with TNA where I didn't
get that feeling from WWE. And again, that could just be
an issue that I have.
Frankie
also shared that he and TNA are working on a long-term contract.
